- Discuss briefly with the class why they chose that particular leader.
- Introduce the topic of the lesson: Leadership and Characteristics of a Bad Leader.
**2. Definition and Discussion (10 minutes)**
- Define leadership: "Leadership is the ability to guide, direct, or influence people."
- Ask students to share what qualities they think a good leader should have. Write these qualities on the board.
- Explain that just as there are good leaders, there can also be bad leaders.
**3. Characteristics of a Bad Leader (15 minutes)**
- Hand out printouts or showcase a list of traits of a bad leader using the projector. Discuss each trait briefly. For instance:
- Dishonesty
- Lack of accountability
- Poor communication
- Self-centeredness
- Unfairness
- Bullying or being overly harsh
- Inconsistent decision-making
- Ask students to think of a story, movie, or real-life situation where they saw a bad leader and to share their thoughts on it.
**4. Group Activity (15 minutes)**
- Divide the class into small groups.
- Provide each group with chart paper and markers.
- Ask the groups to draw and list the characteristics of a bad leader on one side of the chart and what effects these traits can have on a group or community on the other side.
- After the activity, have each group present their chart to the class.
**5. Reflective Exercise (5 minutes)**
- Provide students with sticky notes. Ask them to jot down one quality they want to exhibit as a good leader in their own lives.
- Have each student place their sticky note on a designated "Leadership Wall."
**6. Conclusion (5 minutes)**
- Recap the day's lesson by highlighting the major points:
- What is leadership?
- Characteristics of a bad leader.
- Impact of bad leadership.
- Reinforce the idea that everyone can be a leader by showing good qualities and making positive choices.
**Homework/Extension Activity:**
- Ask students to write a short paragraph or draw a comic strip about a time they saw good leadership either in school, at home, or in a community setting. They should highlight what made this leader effective.

**Notes:**
Be sensitive to the diversity of students' backgrounds and experiences. Ensure discussions are constructive and avoid singling out students based on their stories or experiences. Encourage a supportive and respectful classroom environment.
